WGC Town/Parish Council Campaign
We are facing the biggest change to WGC for over 50 years. Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) means that both Hertfordshire County Council and Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council will be ABOLISHED in 2028.
THEY WILL NO LONGER EXIST
All decisions about services, planning, funding and local priorities in our town will be made further away by a new, much larger Unitary Authority. We will have to compete for attention with other areas
In addition, we are the ONLY community in the Borough that doesn’t already have a Town or Parish Council with the legal rights and powers to fight for what matters most here. This makes us a soft target for decisions that are not in our best interests.
